Gerry's Fast Foods one of Toronto's number one Caribbean restaurants and bakery opened its doors in 1977.
Jamaican born Gerry and Millicent Wong started out cooking delicious mouth watering dishes such as authentic curried goat, oxtail, stew beef, and Jamaica's national dish ackee and salt fish.
In addition to the authentic Jamaican food Gerry's is known for their scrumptious cakes from chocolate cakes, vanilla cakes, carrot cakes, banana bread, Easter bun, red velvet cakes, and the traditional black rum cake.
The pastries are baked from scratch right in the back of the restaurant as well as the thick golden patties made from scratch.
Gerry who has since retired shared his cooking and baking skills with his son Donovan who still keeps the family business up and running since its genesis 42 years ago on St Clair Avenue West.
Gerry and Millicent Wong brought a piece of Jamaica to the city of Toronto and has been featured on CBC by world known reporter for CBC Dwight Drummond who dubs Gerry's Fast Foods as the best take out Jamaican restaurant in Toronto.
Gerry's in the words of son Donovan "Always Tries To Maintain The Highest Quality."
If you have not had the chance to eat Jamaican food without flying to the island Gerry's is the place to be.
